About Us

The Heart of Illinois Chapter has been working to advance the Human Resources profession since 1948. Back then we were called "Central Illinois Employers' Association Personnel Club," Today; the HOI HRC has over 100 members in a wide variety of HR disciplines. A low may have changed since 1948, but one thing remains the same; we are the group to join if you are an area HR professional looking to grow in your role.

Whether you are new to the profession, or an Chief HR Officer, HOI HRC provides you with the knowledge you need to excel and advance in your role. We provide SHRM and HRCI approved programs, professional development information, and the opportunities to network with some of the Peoria area’s best and brightest HR professionals.

Generally, our chapter meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month for lunch and to discuss the real issues affecting our members. For those with SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, and HRCI PHR/SPHR/GPHR designations, the Heart of Illinois HR Council is an excellent source for earning valuable recertification credits.

Interested in becoming certified? We are a certified SHRM partner and offer classes twice a year for certification as a SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP. Join our mailing list to stay tuned on pricing and available scholarships.

Interested in volunteering? Become a volunteer for the board and join us as we partner with area schools, employers and businesses to provide the HR perspective and services to our community.

Interested in joining the HOI HRC Board? Each year we are looking to build on to our board. Made of HR Practitioners and area leaders, we are always looking to engage accomplished professionals with our group. For inquiries, you can reach out to any current board member for more information on running for the board. Nominations and board elections are typically held in September – October of each year.
