    Dimensions of Diversity: Focus on Behavior, Thought, and Generation

    Managing diversity at the workplace presents many dilemmas. Confronted with constant change, management, business educators, and organizational consultants continue to meet the challenges of a new and diverse workforce in a number of ways. One fact remains, the employees that make up an organization are its most valuable asset.  Effective management of their individual differences, whether it be behavior, thought and or generational, is key to maximizing the return on the human capital investment.  Every employee, from senior leaders to front line supervisors and staff, must model the behavior that demonstrates daily a valuing and appreciation of the differences each contributes to the success of the organization.

    Topics that will be covered:

    • Dimensions of Diversity – Diversity encompasses all the different characteristics that make one individual or group different from another.  Focus will be on behavior diversity, diversity of thought & generational diversity.
    • Steps to improve Diversity Competence – Ability to build genuine relationships and bonds and model acceptable behavior that support diversity and inclusion.
    • Inclusive Work Environment – Ability to positively lead and inspire and equally include others especially those that are different than ourselves.
    • Barriers to success – Identify those perceived or real issues that prevent one from living out their intentions with respect to diversity and inclusion.
