Employment and labor laws touch every aspect of an HR professional’s job. Taking stock of new laws and staying current on developments affecting laws that have been around for years is no easy task. This presentation will address the recent passage of laws every HR professional should be aware of and will highlight those federal and state court decisions affecting your organization. From the Illinois Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act to U.S. Supreme Court decisions interpreting employment and labor laws that have governed employer practices for decades, Mr. Reed Roesler will cover the broad range of developments affecting the HR field in the past year.

    J. Reed Roesler graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1979. His practice is focused on the exclusive representation of businesses in the areas of labor and employment law, occupational safety & health, and related litigation. Mr. Roesler is an experienced practitioner before the U.S. and Illinois Departments of Labor, the EEOC and Illinois Human Rights Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, and the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission. Mr. Roesler has represented employers at every level of the state and federal court systems, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
