The ACA’s Employer Mandate – How Recent Guidance Could Impact your Compliance.

Composed of nearly 11,000 pages of legislation and corresponding regulations, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) presents a number of compliance challenges to employers. Who doesn’t need trusted insights and continued assistance in staying vigilant and tracking ACA developments?

The Topics we’ll focus on include:

Additional Employer Mandate Transition Relief for 2015

Final regulations on the ACA employer mandate state that employers with fewer than 100 full-time and full-time equivalent employees are exempt from the employer mandate penalties for the 2015 plan year. Employers with 100 or more full-time and full-time equivalent employees are subject to employer mandate requirements beginning in 2015, but the final regulations provide important transition relief that will make it easier to comply that year.

    Methods for Determining Full-Time Employees

The final employer mandate regulations include look-back measurement rules that employers may use to determine full-time employee status as well as a new “monthly measurement method” for employers that choose not to use the look-back method. During this event, we will examine the possible methods for tracking hours of service and key factors employers might want to consider in determining whether to use a look-back period. We will also discuss Section 6056 reporting.

Strategies for Penalty Avoidance and Risk Mitigation

Whether your functional focus is payroll, HR, benefits or your organization’s finances (all of which play important roles for ACA compliance management within an organization), we’ll provide you with actionable strategies and best practices to address these recent regulatory updates.
