    Navigating medical leaves of absence under the federal Family & Medical Leave Act, the federal Americans with Disabilities Act and the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act.

    Participants will be expected to achieve an understanding of the requirements for employee leaves of absence due to medical conditions under federal and state law, as well as the options available to employers wishing to mitigate potential liabilities and contain costs.

    Presenter: J. Reed Roesler

    J. Reed Roesler graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1979.  His practice is focused on the exclusive representation of businesses in the areas of labor and employment law, wage & hour compliance, occupational safety & health, and related litigation.  Mr. Roesler regularly represents employers before the U.S. and Illinois Departments of Labor, the EEOC, the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the Illinois Human Rights Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, OSHA and the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.  Mr. Roesler has represented employers at every level of the state and federal court systems, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
