    Presentation title: From Speaker to Trainer, a Module in the Toastmasters Sucess Communication Series.

    In the current knowledge-based economy, talent development, engagement, and retention are vital to the success of any organization. Properly trained employees are more satisfied in their jobs and are better able to contribute to the enterprise. This workshop teaches participants how to develop and present training programs.

    Specific Learning Objectives:

    What are some training guidelines for effective training results?

    • In this program you will discover the five steps involved in preparing and presenting a training program using adult learning principles

    • You will also learn the roles of a trainer as well as gain practical experience in facilitating discussions and conducting exercises

    • You'll find out how to make the learning experience memorable and enjoyable


    Speaker Bio:           

    Over a professional life of 40 years, Martie Ogborn took her enthusiasm into several different fields. Her two favorites are transportation and communication. As Director of Safety and Recruiting she trained truck drivers at Cox Transfer for seven years. Then an opportunity to shift gears came and she joined the web design team at Caterpillar, Inc. where she expanded her fascination with communication and joined Toastmasters. She is retired now and continues to conduct communication workshops for Caterpillar employees. Over a 13-year period she trained 700+ associates.

    Whether delivering a formal presentation to managers or providing one-on-one guidance to a friend, Martie's passionate style allows her to connect with all audiences in a way that energizes individuals to reach for their full potential and move toward their goals.

    Professionally Larry Shipman owned his own financial consulting firm for 20 years, served as Director of Sales and Marketing for an insurance company in Peoria for two years, and retired after 10 years of service as a financial consultant with Merrill Lynch. He is an active community member who at different times served as a Town Clerk and President of several associations.

    Larry is in high demand because of his expertise in communication and leadership. He has presented at various conferences and is a featured speaker for many civic organizations.

    Together Martie and Larry have over 60 years’ experience in Toastmasters, an international organization and world leader in communication and leadership development. Currently 332,000 members improve their skills by attending one of the 15,400 clubs in 135 countries.
