    Chapter Meeting and Program: Unemployment and How to Document

    Presenters will review new Unemployment Insurance Laws regarding section 602A Misconduct, Effective Protesting, State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES)

    Specific learning objectives:
    The 8 new subsections of Section 602A Misconduct of the Illinois Unemployment Insurance Act.  How to protest and how the agency processes protests.  How to interact with IDES electronically.  Additional services provided to businesses by IDES.
    Effective navigation of Unemployment Insurance Laws and timely communication to the agency has impact on a company’s overall budget.  
    Vince Knight:  Is a certified HR professional with both HRCI and SHRM.  His career highlights include a 3 year term in the U.S. Army, 7 years in Ministry to Youth, 13 years in Operations and HR Management with Comcast Spotlight and nearly 5 years as the Peoria Local Office Manager with the Illinois Department of Employment Security. 
    Nancie Alexander:  Has been with the Illinois Department of Employment Security for 14 years, 12 of which as a Field Office Supervisor.  Her career highlights include being in the Air National Guard for nearly 30 years, currently as a Lieutenant Colonel and Inspector General of Internal Inspections for the 183rd Fighter Wing in Springfield.  She has also served for more than ten years as a volunteer for the Illinois Valley Striders running club, five of those years as President and most recently volunteering as Athletic Director with the Peoria Chapter of Team Red/White/Blue to help serve community veterans through physical and social events.
    Tory Davis:  Has nearly two decades of experience working with IDES.  He has held the titles of Employment Security Program Representative Intermittent, Employment Security Service Representative, Employment Security Specialist III, Business Services Coordinator and now Business Services Manager.  He currently manages the Business Services Team members located in northern, northwest and central Illinois.  His team includes Business Services Coordinators and Veteran Representatives.  Prior to working with IDES he served in the United States Marine Corps for over four years.
