    Meeting Topic: Addressing Signs and Symptoms of Substance Abuse and Reasonable Suspicion in the Workplace

    The goal of the presentation is to provide “A Guide to Recognition and Intervention” related to both chemical use and process addictions. The main topics that will be covered in this presentation include: Identification of the Prevalence of Addiction in the Workplace, Signs of a Trouble Employee including the impact on his/her behaviors as well as work performance, and Appropriate Intervention.
    Speaker Bio:
    Brittany Ott is a Corporate Services Clinician at Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery (IIAR) through UnityPoint Health-Methodist/Proctor. Brittany received her Masters of Science in Clinical-Counseling Psychology from Illinois State University in 2010. Brittany is also licensed as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. In her current role at IIAR, Brittany assists individuals with addiction by coordinating treatment services. In addition, Brittany works to build community awareness of the disease of addiction to reduce stigma and offer treatment solutions.
