    We will we walk through the fundamentals of strategy work using an HR lens. Rather than talk about SWOT Analysis and Porters 5-Forces, we will take a continuous improvement approach. What has changed, what does it mean, and how will we react? Using a simple three step model, we will incorporate all the elements from traditional organizational design theory and make a analyzing current state and scoping strategy work easier. We will examine the unique role HR can play in analysis, forming, and executing strategy. Lastly. we will take a look at some emerging trends in organizational change management that are changing the way we engage the workforce for large-scale changes.

    Speaker Bio:  

    Brad Weyeneth has over 20 years experience working with complex organizations. Brad studied Electrical Engineering at University of Michigan in Dearborn, MI, obtained his Bachelors of Science degree from Bradley University in 1990, and his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2002. He brings a systems design approach to strategy development and execution planning. After 5 years designing and implementing automation systems at Honeywell, Inc, he joined Caterpillar in Peoria IL where he has held a wide variety of roles. Responsibilities Brad has held include Manager of Global Information Centers, Strategy Manager over Corporate Product Quality, Dean of Caterpillar’s corporate college over all areas of Continuous Improvement. He was responsible for developing strategy processes and tools, and training leaders and facilitators in Strategy Development and Execution Planning. In 2011, Brad developed Caterpillar’s internal organizational design methodology and served as the corporate steward for structured organizational change management methodologies. Major programs he has supported include mergers and acquisitions, integrations, strategic industry analysis, developing a branded facilities strategy, development of the corporate archives, and is currently helping lead the global initiative focusing on improving collaboration through new behaviors and enabling technologies.
