    CEFCU - HR Payroll Administrator

    Primary Responsibilities
    Prepares and processes multi-state non-exempt and exempt payrolls on a bi-weekly basis. Computes deductions, taxes, garnishments, and other withholdings. Verifies and submits taxes for annual tax filing to third party payroll service provider. Administers payroll and timekeeping functions. Assists management with the development and administration of policies, procedures, and guidelines to align the workforce with the strategic goals of CEFCU. Writes policy and develops formats for Employee Handbooks, Policy Manuals, and related policy communication.


    Position Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Experience with HRIS is required, Workday HRIS is preferred.
    • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred. Designation must be obtained based on certification requirements.
    • Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
    • Understanding of the flow of transactions in a payroll/accounting system.
    • Experience with payroll taxes at federal, state, and local levels.
    • Working knowledge of wage withholding orders and garnishments.
    • Experience with math, accounting/bookkeeping, and reconciliation.
    • Must demonstrate strong organizational and documentary skills.


    Preferred Requirements: Applicable college courses, experience with human resources/payroll/employment law, or commensurate experience. Experience in multi-state payroll preparation.
